Reshaping Our Story

Scripture: Ephesians 4:1-5:20
God has blessed us “in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ” (Eph. 1). He made us spiritually alive in Christ and brought us together as one church where God lives by his Spirit (Eph. 2). This message of the Gospel should reshape the story of our lives in such a way that is “worthy of the calling” we have received (Eph. 4:1).
God called us out of darkness and brought us into the light; out of the world and into his body – the church. We must therefore live lives worthy of God’s unspeakable gift to us.

1. Live a life marked by the UNITY of the Spirit.
• “Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit,” v. 3.
• “There is one body and one Spirit…one hope…one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all,” vv. 4-6
• It is every Christian’s responsibility to guard, protect, and preserve the unity of believers in Christ.

2. Live a life marked by the PURITY of the Son.
• Live a godly life, 4:17-32.
• Live a life of love, 5:1-7.
• Live as children of light, 5:8-14.

3. Live a life marked by the WISDOM of the Father.
• “Be very careful, then, how you live – not as unwise but as wise,” v. 15.
• Make the most of every opportunity (v. 16).
• Understand the Lord’s will (v. 17).
• Be filled with the Holy Spirit (v. 18).
