Teachers

Hebrews 5:11-14
“The gift of teaching in the New Testament is the ability to explain Scripture and apply it to people’s lives.”
Wayne Grudem
God’s desire is for us to “live lives worthy of the calling we have received” (Eph. 4:1). In order to make it a reality, he gave gifts to the church to “prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ” (Eph. 4:11-13).
There are three distinguishing qualities needed to become capable godly teachers of the Bible.
1. Teachers must have the Passion to understand the Word.
2. Teachers must have the Patience to grow in the Word.
3. Teachers must have the Perception to apply the Word.
