Korach tells the story of a rebellion against Moses and Aaron led by Korah, a Levite, along with Dathan, Abiram, and On. They challenge the leadership of Moses, accusing him of exalting himself above the congregation of Yahuah. In response, Moses sets up a test to determine whom Yah has chosen to lead. Yahuah shows His displeasure by causing the earth to open and swallow Korah, his followers, and their families, and by sending fire to consume 250 men who offered incense. The Israelites complain about the deaths, leading to a plague that kills 14,700 more people before Aaron makes atonement for them. To reaffirm Aaron's priesthood, Yahuah makes Aaron's staff bud and produce almonds.

The portion concludes with יהוה giving instructions about the duties and privileges of the priests and Levites, emphasizing the responsibilities and sacredness of their roles.
