A child of God does not dwell in the grip of consequence, the whim of happenstance, or the weight of circumstance. The book of Ruth teaches us that our lives are in the hands of providence.
Ruth's life illustrates that God's purpose is to connect us to something far greater than ourselves. When we follow Him, our lives always mean more than we think they do. Because of God's providence, there is always a connection between ordinary events and an extraordinary God.
