A child of God does not dwell in the grip of consequence, the whim of happenstance, or the weight of circumstance. The book of Ruth teaches us that our lives are in the hands of providence.
In Ruth 2, we get a three-dimensional view of the response God is looking for from all who believe the Gospel. Ruth, Naomi and Boaz represent the three abiding virtues in the New Testament, Faith, Hope and Love.
