The word “disciple or disciples” is used about 250 times in the New Testament. Usually it is a reference to the twelve men who became the apostles upon whom the church was founded. But if you limit your search to the gospels and then narrow it further to the words of Jesus, you discover that Jesus made four definitive statements about disciples.
