Every year it seems stores and websites begin promoting Christmas decorations earlier and earlier in an attempt to beat their competitors in sales. Hours long sales turn into month long promotions...with free shipping. While unintended, it gets many of us thinking about Christmas and all that we hope will happen on the day of Christ’s birth. But while the anticipation for what Christmas and the season surrounding it is usually really high, when it arrives and passes, it leaves many people unchanged and wishing for more.
Maybe we need to anticipate the right Christmas? If we do, things can be very different!
The good news is that God wants us to have so much more this Christmas if we will anticipate it for what it really is. In this new series, “Anticipating Christmas”, we will look at how this Christmas can fulfill all our anticipations as we look at the promises God made and kept on Christmas, and how we can seek and find the heart of Christmas through the One who was born and can satisfy us.
