The Christmas season is one of the busiest and most complex times of the year for many of us. We spend so much time decorating our homes, planning for and attending parties, shopping and buying gifts for family and friends, attending our kids and grandkids special events at school, being with family we haven’t seen in a while, and so much more. By the time Christmas arrives, we’re usually glad that all of the frantic pace that we have lived with is behind us. What a contrast it is from the original Christmas! On a winter night about 2,030 years ago, Jesus was born in a manger with little fanfare from a preoccupied world. The birth of Jesus was a simple event that is so different from what we see all around us at Christmas all these years later. Yet, while Christmas was a simple event, it’s meaning, significance and impact on the world was profound and transformative beyond what anyone could ever fully grasp then and even now. In this series, we’ll help provide clarity and depth to the true meaning and significance of Christmas, and help you get back to a more simple appreciation for the profound mystery of God coming into the world as a man in His Son Jesus Christ.
