The gospel is the story of humiliation and exaltation. God stoops all the way down to become man. Because He humbled Himself, preferring others to accomplish our redemption, the Father exalts Him. He bestows new honors and new glory for having accomplished redemption. He gives Him a name above every name and declares that anybody who ever comes to God must say that “Jesus is Lord.”
