Historically, in this month of Tishri, God wants to erase our past and grant mercy to sustain us for the present; coupling this with His grace will cause us to be fruitful even in our affliction. Mercy is represented in the symbolism of the Ark of the Covenant: Two angels on the “mercy seat” are above the law that is encased within. That preaches, “mercy is above the law!” He delights to give mercy. In this teaching, you will learn that God starts with mercy from the inside out; this is represented in the Tabernacle, but starting from the holy of holies and moving out to reach those in the outer court, extending to the harvest.
