We don’t like to be disciplined. If you had loving parents who disciplined through spanking, you likely don’t look back fondly on that painful experience, but you can look back and understand why they did it. It wasn’t because they were angry and didn’t like you. It was because they cared deeply for you and didn’t want to see you continue in your destructive behavior. In this teaching, Pastor Mark will draw our attention to the disciplinary methods of our Heavenly Father. Whenever we experience God’s judgment in any form, our initial reaction may be to see Him as a cruel God, but He carries out just judgment because He cares deeply for man.
