Description

This week we return to our series in the Parables, and we come to the famous sower of the seeds passage. Jesus tells a story about contrasting soils to an agrarian society, where the economy was built off these realities. People were used to thinking intently about their jobs and income, but who gives that much attention to their own hearts or spiritual lives? Economic dangers are tiny when compared to the cost of internal hardness, ongoing superficiality, or competing loves. So why do we think about our salaries more than our relationship with God? No doubt Jesus intends his listeners to stop and reflect on why we tend to set aside the more important matter - which is a perfect way to begin a 'new' year, especially when we consider who does the "sowing" in this passage. Let's talk about the grace of a "Deep-Seeded" life (Matthew 13:1-9,18-23)
