Description

This Sunday is Palm Sunday. We will look at a passage in Luke 19 where Christ makes His triumphant entry into Jerusalem. The whole city is buzzing with celebration and anticipation as pilgrims from all over Judea are coming to the city to celebrate Passover. Among them are Jesus’ followers, journeying to the Holy City. They are starting to believe that He is the One, the Messiah that they have been waiting for, who will set them free from Roman rule. As Christ comes, along with the rulers of Rome, and all the people of Israel, what are they expecting of Christ? Is He there to fill their nationalistic needs? Or do they see Him as Redeemer and Savior King? And as we look to Palm Sunday, why are we coming? May we come with expectations, honor, and praise for Christ our Redeemer, for blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! (Luke 19:28-40)
