“Do you not understand?” How often have we heard those words spoken to us? How often have we said it to others? How many times has a deep sigh followed a lack of understanding? This week our passage in Mark finds Jesus and the Disciples after the miraculous feeding of the four thousand, and yet there is still a misunderstanding about who Christ was and His mission. Jesus gets questioned and tested by the Pharisees and He uses that confrontation as a teaching moment for His disciples. Do they start to understand who Christ is or are they being influenced by the Pharisees to depend on and look for signs, rather than live by faith in the person of Christ? As we take a deeper look this Sunday at Mark 8:11-21, may we understand that Christ alone is sufficient and that our faith is in Him, and Him only.
