Description

This week as we continue our series in the book of James we come to the taming of the tongue. James directly confronts us with how our tongues can burn others and reveal our own hearts. More than that, our tongues direct us like a ship's rudder or a horse's bridle. There are few faster ways to be humbled than to think back through the things that have come out of our own mouths toward others. Considering Jesus also said that we will "have to give account for every careless word" (Mt.12:36), what hope is there for our tongues to be redeemed? How can they become instruments of praise and life instead of death and destruction? Let's talk about the "Flamethrower" (James 3:1-12).
