In particular, he calls out wealthy employers, but it's the underlying theme that reverberates through the American church: how can we live a life of excess amidst a starving world? What is the disconnect in our lives that enables us to do so? These questions are painful - but they also make it clear James is not against us, but seeking more joy in our lives. So what are we missing in 'how' we do work? And more importantly, what needs to change about the 'why' of our work? Let's talk about “Getting Down to Business” (James 5:1-6).
