Discussion Questions

The resurrection of Jesus Christ either happened or it’s a lie. Is there a middle position that’s legitimate, or is every opposition to the historicity of the resurrection just flat-out denial? If you accept it as fact, when did you first embrace this miracle? Why are you so convinced it happened?

Recently we’ve seen bystanders choose not to get involved in violent attacks; even closing the door on the victim. Some believe God doesn’t do anything about pain and suffering. What do you say to such a skeptic? Have you ever felt like God is just watching and not acting?

Jesus was moved with compassion for the woman, in his guts! God enters into our suffering. Have you ever felt this personal connection with God, especially in times of crisis?

Death is a curse – it’s not natural. Elaborate on what you believe Pastor Russ meant by this. If we all die, how is death unnatural? Do you live with more hope or more despair?

Give a few examples of how a person can have spiritually dead areas of their lives get resurrected and made alive. In what ways have you been made new? Can you confess a dead or unclean area that needs the touch of Jesus?

What’s the closest thing you’ve seen that feels like a spiritual resurrection? Have you seen someone come back alive, spiritually speaking? Have you gone through this kind of change?
