Description

This Sunday is Easter - Resurrection Sunday. After spending almost a month talking about the church at Philippi (in Acts 16), what better way to carry that momentum into Easter than to hear how Paul shared resurrection hope with that same church? In Philippians 3, Paul gives his resume. He lays out all of his accolades and accomplishments. These are the things he formerly built his significance upon. And then... he burns his resume. He calls it all "rubbish." Why? Paul is building the case for daily joy in the resurrection by stripping away the cheap imitations that would keep him from true joy. His goal: "...that I may know him and the power of his resurrection..." (Php.3:1-11). It is hard to think of a better prayer for Easter or a better time to invite a friend to join you for worship.
