We come to the topic of wisdom. Considering James challenged us about our tongues last week, this topic naturally follows. But this is not merely the pragmatist's insight of "better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt." That's a 'wisdom' that just stays on the surface. Worrying about consequences might change our outward behavior for a short time, but it never changes anyone's heart - certainly not permanently - which is precisely what James is after. So what does heart-changing wisdom look like? And how do we get it into our daily actions? Let's talk about the “Word to the Wise” (James 3:13-18).
