At the end of 1 Chronicles, King David gets a vision to create a temple for God's presence to be with the people. Even though he knows he won't be the one to see it fulfilled, he still gives sacrificially to set up the next generation. In it, we see a picture of how we are called to give to help people encounter God's presence.
