The bible reading today is in John chapters 14-17.
“Let not your hearts be troubled.”
The hearts of Jesus’ friends were troubled. Jesus had just added some troublesome words to his message about his impending death.
“You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am. Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.
After saying these things, Jesus was troubled in his spirit, and testified, “Truly, truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me.”
