The bible reading today is in John chapters 2-4.
Jesus had lived on the earth for 30 years and had worked no miracle. There was the hiding of His power. He had lived and worked with His parents and brothers and sisters in Nazareth. Basically, Jesus lived a normal boy to young man life. Including, taking care of His mother after His dad’s death.
Now He has broken through the obscurity and has begun his ministry by performing a miracle, turning water into wine at a wedding celebration.
“On the third day there was a wedding at Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Jesus also was invited to the wedding with his disciples. When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus said to him, “They have no wine.” And Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does this have to do with me? My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”
