Key Points

God has placed eternity in our hearts; therefore, we have an unquenchable need without Jesus. God is unchangeable but desires to change us.

To want more and hope for better is as natural as breathing.

To fast or to remove something good and replace it with something better is a discipline that can lead to transformation.

The prophet Isaiah is directed to not hold back but to shout with a loud cry and tell God’s people their transgressions. This is a first step in drawing close to God: understand what is in the way!

Transgression is a willfully unrepentant heart that trespasses against God’s desires for us.

Faith pleases God.

Belief in His promise to reward the diligent seeker is a great place to break unbelief.

Fasting is the amplifier of prayer.
