As Jesus rode into Jerusalem to die, the disciples were blinded to the spiritual vision for how He was going to expand the Kingdom through the cross.
The Kingdom of God is not made by human hands, human ideas, human means, human wisdom, or human governments.
God’s ways and thoughts are higher than ours. The message of the cross is folly to those who are perishing but life and peace to those being saved.
We need a new vision for the Kingdom and how we can be a part of its operation in our lives every day.
The Kingdom of God is expanded by new birth.
The battle for the Kingdom is a spiritual battle.
The spirit of the Kingdom is opposite to the spirit of the world.
Jesus acted in the opposite spirit: a spirit of humility. He laid down his life in perfect love for sinners. He died for his enemies.
He’s calling us to this Kingdom vision: to follow in His footsteps that we would die to self, operate in the spirit of humility, and love sinners as Jesus did as we share the Gospel. As Jesus is, so are we in this world.
