Description

Jesus stood in our place in the Jordan.
Jesus doesn’t ask us to do anything that He hasn’t already accomplished.
Jesus went from the waters of baptism to the dry wilderness,
from the waters of baptism to the fires of testing,
from Heaven opening wide to hell being by His side,
from hearing the affirming voice of His Father to hearing the lies of the devil.
Adam failed in a beautiful garden and ate. Jesus was victorious over temptation while fasting for 40 days in the wilderness.
The number 40 in the bible generally speaks in conjunction with testing and trial.
Jesus was made like us and experienced suffering so that He could become sympathetic and merciful to us in our weakness to sin.
We can come boldly to Jesus in our time of need; He knows what it is like for us to be tempted.
God does not tempt us, but He does allow testing.
