Jesus escapes the crowds to broadcast the word across the sea.
Again, His primary mission is to teach and preach the Word.
Jesus teaches in a parable, which He will use 35% of the time when He teaches. Parables: our earthly truths coming alongside a spiritual truth.
The seed is scattered and lands on different conditions of the heart. A hard heart, an excited heart, an easily distracted heart, a heart that is consumed with the cares of the world. And then finally the heart that is prepared and opened to receive and believe the Word.
When the Word is excepted and applied it will produce and multiply.
Hearts that turn away from the truth of Scripture will harden and eventually be locked up. The Word of God is truth, and the truth will set a hard heart free.
Fallow ground is uncultivated ground. Many of our hearts have places that are yet to be cultivated with the Word of God.
When we see the priority that Jesus sets to preach the Word that we may hear it, this should give us the inspiration to be hungry for God‘s Word.
Jesus’ disciples live in the Word and are continually discovering secrets of the Kingdom. (that’s us)
