To the person who thinks they are the captain of their own soul and own will, Jesus’ declaration that you must be born again is a devastating blow. How much control did you have over your first birth? None. How much control do you have over a second birth? “The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
Listen and hear his voice: “Come to me that you may have life.” Whoever has the Son has life. If you come, you will be finally and truly and invincibly alive.
You will be born again!
