Read 2 Timothy 1:8-12 and 1 Timothy 2:3-7. What are the similarities between these two passages? How does Paul understand his own identity/calling? What does he teach as the core of the gospel message?
Read 2 Timothy 1:13-18 and 2 Corinthians 4:7-18. How does Paul keep on going when his co-laborers in the ministry abandon him? What convictions help him to persevere in the midst of hard times?

In what ways are you tempted to distort the gospel in your own mind? How can you regularly remind yourself of the core elements of the Christian faith as part of your spiritual disciplines?
