Use the following questions this week to reflect on what it would mean to align yourself with the truths taught in Scripture. Each question is meant for both personal reflections and as a catalyst for discussion with your family, friends, or small group.
1. Read 1 Corinthians 2:9. What has been your prior picture of heaven? What did you think it was going to be like, and did you look forward to going there? Where does your picture of heaven come from?
2. Read 2 Corinthians 12:2-4. As you think about the number of people who have experienced a Near Death Experience (NDE) and the scientific studies done, are you inclined to give some validity to NDEs? Why or why not?
3. Read 2 Corinthians 5:6-9. What do you believe happens to you when you die? How does your view compare with the teaching of the Bible? What does it mean to walk by faith and not by sight?
4. If heaven is as good as the Bible and NDEers describe, how does that change your view of the way we should live our lives today? Are there any changes you feel God would want you to make?
