Even before God pronounced punishment to Adam and Eve, their sin caused them to hide – from God, from one another, from even themselves. We still hide, still try to convince others that we are better, different, more than we really are. And our preoccupation with hiding worsens when we listen to voices that lie to us about our real selves.
Because God is…grieved by my rebellion and rejection of Him,
I am…seldom (or never) aware of the myriad voices I hear.
Because God is…the Creator of all reality and source of all wisdom,
I am… morally accountable not only for what I do, but also for whom I listen to
Because God is… calling me to stop hiding from God, myself, and others,
I am…never fully redeemed until I am fully honest about who I am.
