Revelation 12 is the climax of The Revelation, revealing the cosmic battle between God and the satanic trinity of the dragon, the sea-monster beast and the second earth-monster beast. This war started long ago in heaven. When Satan and his rebels were thrown down from heaven, they waged war against God’s people (causing much our suffering and persecution). Jesus warned his church that those faithful to him would be rejected by the faithless world (John 15:21). The church must resist the temptations of the beasts who represent the allure of worldly success, the seduction of comfort (Laodicea) and the lies of secularism.
