The question of who is the greatest is timeless. Jesus answers this by placing a small child before His disciples, offering a radical redefinition of what matters most. He reveals that true significance in the Kingdom of Heaven isn’t found in power, status, or being number one. Instead, it’s found in profound humility—willingly embracing the lowest position in a world that is obsessed with climbing to the top. This week's message challenges our deepest assumptions about what it means to be truly great.
Faithwork Assignment:
Reflect on the nature of true greatness as Jesus taught it. He presents a powerful contrast to the world's values by teaching that significance is found not in power or status, but in humility, like that of a child. Consider the areas in your life where you seek to be "the greatest." Then, ask yourself how you can actively practice putting others before yourself, willingly taking a lower position or the role of a servant. Identify one small, humble act of service you can perform, shifting your focus from worldly influence to a heart of humility before God.
