To be a Christian is to be on mission. But what happens when we actually step out to answer God's call? Using the start of the first missionary journey in Acts 13, we explore the two realities every believer should expect: sudden opposition and surprising "open doors." This message challenges us to see how God uses curious "outsiders" to change the world and how each of us is uniquely qualified to be the one He sends.

Faithwork Assignment:

Reflect on the church's biblical pattern, which is to gather for prayer and encouragement and then to send people out to serve. Consider where God is sending you, whether it is to a new place or simply across the street. As you go, be prepared to face opposition when you try to "make the paths straight" for others to find God. How will you respond when you face that pushback? At the same time, be watchful for the "open doors" God provides, especially with people who are curious but may be outside the faith. Who in your life might be waiting for an invitation?

Sermon Series - Sent: The First Missionary Journey of Paul

The church in Antioch was young—yet it was bold enough to send Paul and his companions into uncharted territory with the gospel. From the very beginning, Christianity has been a sent faith—a faith on the move. Join us as we step into this exciting story of adventure, opposition, and unexpected victories. It’s the story of the earliest church planting efforts. And it’s also our story. Just as Paul was sent, we too are sent—right here in Allentown and beyond—to preach, teach, serve, and bring healing in Jesus’ name.
