Sermon Series: Sent - The First Missionary Journey of Paul
Scripture: Acts 14: 21-28
Sermon: Gather and Report
Preacher: J.C. Fowler
The Christian life is often defined by being sent out on a mission, but there is another vital rhythm found in the book of Acts. Following the Apostle Paul's first missionary journey, we discover that stopping to rejoice is essential for spiritual endurance. This message explores how biblical celebration defeats scarcity mindsets and renews our strength. Discover why enjoying God is just as important as serving Him and how to cultivate a spirit of joy even amidst hardship.

Faithwork Assignment:
Celebration is a spiritual discipline that allows us to not just glorify God, but to enjoy Him fully. Take time to identify the internal barriers, such as "joy anxiety," a lack of margin, or a scarcity mindset, that might be holding you back from rejoicing. Remember that celebration is the fuel for your future mission, not a distraction from it. Finally, follow the example of the Apostle Paul by gathering with others to report on God's work. Identify someone you can invite to join the celebration of what Jesus is doing in your life and community.

Sermon Series - Sent: The First Missionary Journey of Paul
The church in Antioch was young—yet it was bold enough to send Paul and his companions into uncharted territory with the gospel. From the very beginning, Christianity has been a sent faith—a faith on the move. Join us as we step into this exciting story of adventure, opposition, and unexpected victories. It’s the story of the earliest church planting efforts. And it’s also our story. Just as Paul was sent, we too are sent—right here in Allentown and beyond—to preach, teach, serve, and bring healing in Jesus’ name.
