Last Friday I sat down with some good friends of ours, Brendan and Sharon Witton. They are pastors of Toronto City Church, a thriving multi-ethnic faith community in the heart of Toronto. Sharon is a black Canadian. Brendan is a caucasian Canadian. They are married. They are national leaders. They are amazing.
We had a candid conversation about what is happening right now in our nation in the wake of George Flyod's murder.
We talked about Sharon's personal experience in Canada and wrestled with how we can move forward in a spirit if love and reconciliation in a 'real' way.
At the end of our conversation we pray together for our nation.
Our heart in sharing this conversation is to help bring healing, authentic conversation (not glossing over some of the elephants in the room) and hopefully deeper understanding.
We love you and we love Canada.
Please join with us.
