To begin with, being drunk and throwing a party while the city is under siege wasn’t a great idea. Arrogance and pride made King Belshazzar do the worst possible thing he could’ve done. He directly challenged God. The best part of this story is that God responds in a way that leaves the King so scared that he turns pale.
