There are people and some institutions that misunderstand and misuse the term and meaning of social justice. They relate social justice to advocacy for individual interests that are inherently contrary to Christian life principles and values. Scholars who developed the concept, including Oxford's dictionary definition, characterize social justice as the fair treatment and respect for the rights of minorities in an equitable distribution of resources among members of a community. Social justice primarily is the state's function to equitably affect the livelihood of the "have not" groups in society.
