Everyone makes bad choices. But they don’t have to haunt us for the rest of our lives. This week, we talk about how bad choices and regrets can actually be opportunities to learn and grow once we learn to forgive ourselves. After all, we were all just doing the best we could at the time.
This Week's Listener Question:
I just returned from a class reunion where I ran into an old boyfriend. Let’s just say that was a huge trigger reminding me of the choices I made during a very dark season of my life. How do I live with intense regret and the knowledge that I wasted so many years?
This Week’s Listener Question:
1. What parts or emotions come up for when you’re reflecting on past mistakes or perceived failures in life?
2. Are you willing to share a past regret with a trusted friend or your small group? How does being vulnerable with others open the door for deeper relationships?
3. After listening to Laura and Christine’s strategies for letting go of our past regrets, what’s one you’re willing to try?
4. Christine shared that God doesn’t waste anything, including our mistakes. Think of a time when a mistake you made was somehow used for good. Be brave and share your story with someone who might be struggling with regret today.
