We’ve all heard the phrase “no pain, no gain.” Most of the time we don’t like hearing it, but it’s true. In our world of access to comfort, it’s easy to avoid the pain of doing hard things and we miss out on becoming our best selves.
Small Group Questions:
1. Is there a situation right now that you’re trying to control? What leverage do you or don’t you have?
2. When Christine mentioned letting go of someone or something, what immediately came to your mind? Why is this hard to let go of? In what ways would you benefit if you truly let go of it?
3. Think of a time when you embraced discomfort to build your character. What did you learn about yourself in the process?
4. What emotions are you most uncomfortable with – loneliness, sadness, grief, hunger, anger, regret, or another? Why do you think this emotion is particularly hard for you?
5. What the next hard thing you know you need to do? Make a plan and take the first step. We believe in you!
