Description

It's good to feel wanted. But what happens when that feeling drives you to say "yes" to everything? It's chaos. This week we talk about the burnout that goes along with people pleasing and work towards being able to say "no" in a healthy, relationship and sanity preserving way.

This Week's Listener Question:

I’m a volunteer at my church. Clearly, I have a reputation of being a helper because I’m constantly asked to serve in many different areas. The problem is I feel really burned out but guilty saying NO when asked to help.

Small Group Questions:

To build connection with a friend or in your small group, ask each other these questions.

1. Where are you constantly pouring out energy and time and could easily become burned out?

2. What concerns or fears come up for you when you think about saying no or disappointing someone?

3.  On a scale of one to ten, ten being I live to please people, where are you? What proof do you have that backs up your number?

4.  Soul Challenge: Spend 15+ minutes alone in quiet. Pray and ask yourself… what is my calling in this season of my life? Write down any words, phrases, ideas, goals, or plans that come to you in this quiet time. Be brave and share these insights with someone who will encourage your journey moving forward in 2024.
