Edom was a wealthy and powerful nation. With so many traders passing through their well-defended territory, the Edomites saw themselves as "untouchable" in the region. And in their arrogance, they defied God at every corner. And when the Israelites needed their help, they turned them away. Well Today Pastor Dan will be reading through the book of Obadiah where he prophesies the destruction of the Edomites. This destruction was a consequence of their pride and their mistreatment of Israel.
