SCENE 9 - Jesus, The Best Gift of All
Children: “That’s so sad that Jesus is dead.”
Dad: “Oh no, that’s not the end of the story. Three days after Jesus died on the cross and was buried in a tomb, some women went to take care of Jesus’ body and they found the tomb EMPTY!”
Children: “(GASP) … Empty? Where was Jesus body?
Dad: “You see, God’s power is the GREATEST power in all of the universe, and not even death can beat God. God raised Jesus from the dead, it’s called resurrection, and Jesus walked around and talked to his followers and others for 40 days after he was raised from the dead. Then he went up into heaven, where he still sits at God’s right hand.”
Children: “We wish we could at least see God’s greatest gift to us.”
Dad: “But that’s the good news! You can see Jesus someday. In Romans 10:9, the Bible tells us that when we “say with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that God raised him from the dead, we will be saved.” When we put our faith in Jesus, and Jesus alone, God helps us live like Jesus. Now that’s what I call a GIFT!”
