Today as we continue our study through 1 John, Pastor Jeff discusses the relationship between sin and righteousness. The Bible defines sin as breaking God's law and emphasizes that it's contrary to God's nature. Through faith in Jesus, Christians aim to live righteous lives, following His example. John stresses that those who continue in unrepentant sin are not truly following Christ, while those born of God find it easier to live righteously. Love is a key theme; he highlights that loving one another signifies belonging to God's family, contrasting it with hatred and wrongdoing, which are characteristics of those outside of God's love. In essence, we can look at our lives and ask the question “Whose Kid Am I?”
