The Christian worldview is based on two foundational points: 1) God exists and 2) god has spoken to us in the Bible. However, in our contemporary society, there’s a growing number of proponents who argue that the Bible is outdated & out of touch! In our post-Christian America, the Church has lost its prophetic voice to speak God’s heart on the issues of today. Mostly because we’ve been so preoccupied fighting with each other. But God’s desire is that we would live in unity, not uniformity. To be like-minded, not identical robots. To have the same heartbeat, but different functions. Whenever people are confronted with an opinion or method of ministry that collides with their preference, we have a tendency to run to another church instead of work through our differences. But in First Century Christianity they didn’t have that option! Hot-topics led to disunity and Paul was speaking to keep the Church aligned to God’s will.
