It would be wonderful if at every moment of the day, in all the significant events of life, in even the most mundane of times, that we deeply experienced the presence of God. Yet the hard truth is that there are times in life, sometimes during the hardest times, that we wonder if God is even there, and if He is there, does He really care. In Psalm 22 we find a powerful expression of what it is like to feel abandoned by God. Yet we also find great rejoicing in the end. This is a gut-wrenching yet brutally honest song about a hard season in life. But it is also a song of great hope in those hard seasons.
