As a Christian, you've been adopted by God the Father. We are adopted as one of God's children, and as a result, we are putting off our old self and being given a new identity. The work done by Jesus through the cross and resurrection is what shapes our new identity as adopted children of God. And together, we are a family of brothers and sisters in Christ.
