Suffering and affliction are part of what it means to have our identity rooted in Christ. God has designed that suffering of His people is one essential means in the triumph and spread of the Gospel to all people of the world. Suffering is part of God's strategy for making known to the world who Christ is, how He loves and how much He is worth. If we are in Christ, we should expect to suffer like Christ and for Christ.
