In this episode of Next Big Wave, Tim Grassin and Adam Parker, a Canadian who moved to Bangkok, share his journey of building a successful YouTube channel and his own business in Thailand.
Adam started by helping his uncle with his YouTube channel, Retired Working For You, and saw the potential to create a business around it. He identified various revenue streams, including AdSense, an app, a membership program, a rental service, and group tours.
Adam then decided to step away from the Retired Working For You channel and build his own brand. He created the Thai Language Challenge and started his own YouTube channel to highlight the experiences of people living in Thailand. Bangkok, according to Adam, is a diverse and vibrant city with a wide range of activities, attractions, and culinary options. He has embraced Thai culture and has a diverse group of friends, including Thai locals, expats, and successful entrepreneurs.
Establishing a business in Thailand as a foreigner has its challenges, but with the right support, it is possible. Adam shares his insights on building a business in Southeast Asia and his experiences in the region.
Tim and Adam also discuss how to automate businesses and the importance of building standard operating procedures to scale your business effectively.
