We are beginning a new sermon series on 1 Corinthians to coincide with our school year theme of "Choosing Unity". You and I both know how polarized our world is right now and how much more fractured it can become in an election season. We have lost the ability to really listen to one another. We take sides. We take positions and, let's be honest, sometimes we forget why. Now more than ever the Church has a responsibility to be bridge builders and peacemakers in our community.
What is it about explosions that are so attractive? We stop and are in awe when we see something explode. I think it has something to do with the power of the explosion and our draw towards power. This week, Pastor Karla talks about the power of the cross, but it's different than the power of the world.
