We are beginning a new sermon series on 1 Corinthians to coincide with our school year theme of "Choosing Unity". You and I both know how polarized our world is right now and how much more fractured it can become in an election season. We have lost the ability to really listen to one another. We take sides. We take positions and, let's be honest, sometimes we forget why. Now more than ever the Church has a responsibility to be bridge builders and peacemakers in our community.
We grow up in a society that endorses and maybe even worships competition. And while there is benefit in "healthy competition", our vision becomes skewed by competition, and can lead to us losing sight of the purpose of the Church. Pastor Karla discusses how do we balance preference with truth?
